“EASTER 2014” CONTEST RESOLVED ! 

Designing Easter cards by pupils of our schools is slowly becoming a tradition. The winners of this year’s the art competition “EASTER 2014” became:

SCHOOL COMPETITION ON FOOTBALL FIELD OF UNIA KOLONOWSKIE

On Saturday – 5^th April on the football field of Unia Kolonowskie the communal-school competition in primary school boys football took place. The team from Public Primary School Staniszcze Małe-Spórok won and got to the poviat competition. The second place was taken by Public Primary School No 1 in Kolonowskie and the third by Public Primary School Staniszcze Wielkie-Kolonowskie 3.

PARTENRSHIP VISIT AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

On 12-13 October inhabitants of Kolonowskie Commune visited Bělotin – a partnership locality in the Czech Republic. A group of sixteen people consisting of village administrator’s offices, associations and non-governmental organizations representatives and teachers had a possibility to visit Jesenik nad Odrou – the winner of this year’s title of Village of the Year 2013 and Hynčice – a place of birth of Gregor Mendel – the founder of the new science of genetics. Program of this trip also included visit in Hranice, Teplice nad Bečvou and the castle in Stary Jičin.

However, the aim of this visit was conversation about the possibility of cooperation between schools using funds from the Comenius Programme and establishing contacts between groups of seniors from the area of both partnership localities.

 A LUCKY STREAK

On 21^st September 2013 the Dance Group “Figielek” from Staniszcze Wielkie represented Kolonowskie commune in the first edition of the Voivodship Modern Dance Festival called “Roztańczony Popielów”. The competition was organized by the Local Government Centre of Culture, Tourism and Recreation in Popielów. The event was attended by over 500 dancers from all over the voivodship. The teams were divided into three age groups and three dance groups (hip hop, disco and other forms of dancing). Our “Figielek” presented a choreography called “By the wild shore of deep water” in its category (other forms of dancing of up to 11 years of age) and took first place. The team received a huge cup and commemorative diploma.

 A TRIP TO BERLIN

On 31^th August the Socio-Cultural Association of the Germans in the Silesia Province (DFK), branch in Staniszcze Małe, organized a trip to Berlin, Germany. 48 people took part in this trip, both inhabitants of Kolonowskie commune and neighbouring communes. The trip was planned at 4 o’clock in the morning, the tourists reached Berlin at 10 a.m.

The tour included visiting the most valuable attractions of Berlin such as: the Berlin Wall, the square called Alexanderplatz, the boulevard Under the linden trees, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial - officially named the Monument to the Murdered Jews in Europe, the Victory Column, the Potsdamer Platz. The biggest attraction of the whole trip was a visit to the Bundestag and a cruise on the Spree river while they admired the Reichstag - the seat of the German Parliament, the government quarter – the Regierungsviertel, the House of World Cultures and on the way back also the Martin Luther King Bridge with a view of the Bellevue Palace, the Beamtenschlange (civil servant accommodation) and the Victory Column, the new central station, the Berlin Cathedral, Museum Island and the oldest residential district in Berlin – Nikolaiviertel among others.

Tired and full of impressions participants of the trip returned to their homes at around 1 o’clock a.m. 

CAMP IN STANISZCZE MAŁE

On 29-31 August a group of wards from children’s home in Opole together with their guardians visited Kolonowskie commune. Living under canvas in Staniszcze Małe for several days they could acquaint themselves with charms of the Mała Panew valley. And it must be admitted that the program was rich, because there were place for canoes, bicycles, horses and visit to the Jura Park. In addition, young people could try their hand at bowling and check their sense of direction in the corn maze.

 A SHRINE IN NEW SPLENDOUR AFTER RENOVATION

The renovation of a shrine located in Spórok at the intersection of Guznera and Chrobrego Street has been finished. The renovation project included elevation, roof, window and door woodwork. The cost amounted to 61 000 PLN, of which 75% was acquired from the Rural Development Plan by Local Action Group “Kraina Dinozaurów”. 

 HOLIDAYS IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

This year’s summer action in the village community centre in Staniszcze Wielkie started with artistic activities. Children aged 4-13 took part in the national art competition called “My favourite Bible story” organized by the Centrum Inicjatyw Lokalnych in Zawiercie (the Centre For Local Initiatives). 12 children entered this competition. Their works made during classes will be sent to the organizer of competition. 

ALMOST A 100 PEOPLE ATTENDED CYCLING RALLY

On 6^th July cyclists from the communes that belong to the Dolina Mała Panew Association arrived to Kolonowskie for the annual cycling rally. It was their 12^th meeting. Despite the bad weather at the beginning, at start were over 90 participants who created a total of eight teams. There was waiting for them 30 km bike route, while they could visit the Regional Chamber in Kolonowskie, the Forest Arboretum by the forester’s lodge Jaźwin, hermitage in Staniszcze Wielkie and the ecological ground – Szczyrkowiska (little ponds in the forest) in Staniszcze Małe. Representatives of Polish Touring Association (PTTK) took care of the right information resources.

 KINDERGARTEN PARTY

On 18^th June in the garden of Public Kindergarten in Kolonowskie took place the long-awaited “Children’s Day”. The event was addressed to the current and future preschoolers from Kolonowskie. There were inflatable toys and ball pool. The attraction was balloon show. Each child received a toy made for him of balloons. Children were delighted and had a wonderful time.
